Staying abreast with PMI®s updated standards and bodies of knowledge

The Project Management Institute (PMI®) has launched an update to the foundation standards, Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) – Fifth Edition, The Standard for Program Management – Third Edition, The Standard for Portfolio Management – Third Edition. As a result, PMI® is in the process of updating the content of their certification exams.

For all our learners who have not yet written their exams, please read this information very carefully. You will need to write your exams prior to the launch dates listed below should you wish to write your examination on the previous version of the relevant standard. If you do not write your exams before these dates, you will be tested on the PMBOK® Fifth Edition and/or The Standard for Program Management Third Edition content.

New Examination Launch Date:
CAPM®: 1 July 2013
PMP®: 31 July 2013
PgMP®: 31 July 2013
PMI-SP®: 31 August 2013
PMI-RMP®: 31 August 2013

If you’re not sure what the PMBOK® Fifth Edition entails, we are here to help you! We have launched a 1 day PMBOK® Fifth Edition Alignment course starting from 25 February. This course will provide you with the key changes and enhancements made to the PMBOK® Fifth Edition, and assist existing certified learners who wish to keep abreast with current best practice. You will also receive a copy of the PMBOK® Fifth Edition as part of the course.

In line with these changes, as of 1 March 2013, all PM.Ideas certification programmes will be based on the updated standards.
