During this 3-day course, you will learn all the fundamental concepts, tools and techniques of project management using predictive, adaptive and hybrid approaches.

Project management is a critical skill for anyone irrespective of their role in business. It is estimated that 25 million new project management oriented employees are needed to meet global talent demands by 2030.

This course is a combination of theory and practical application through a simulated case study. You will get to work on real life project management challenges in order to be equipped to face real life scenarios.

 

 

 

Description

Public seat courses are are delivered virtually - live Instructor Led via GoToTraining and Promote - our Learning Transfer Platform. Customer specific courses can be delivered virtually, in-person at our Training Academy or on your site.

This comprehensive 3-day course is designed to introduce participants to the foundational principles of project management, as outlined in the PMI®‘s A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).

Participants will gain a solid understanding of project management processes, knowledge areas, and tools essential for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects. The course will also explore different project life cycles— predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches—to help participants tailor their project management strategies based on project needs.

The course includes case studies and practical exercises to simulate real-world scenarios, ensuring that participants can immediately apply their learning in the workplace.

 

Learning Objectives

Learners completing this course will be able to:

  • Understand the core elements of project management according to the PMBOK® Guide.
  • Learn the processes involved in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects.
  • Understand different project life cycles, including predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches, and when to use each.
  • Develop skills to identify project needs and requirements and craft an effective Project Charter.
  • Define the scope of a project and collect accurate project requirements.
  • Build a project organisation and management system for effective project governance.
  • Create a project schedule and budget, and manage the project against these plans using various techniques.
  • Conduct effective stakeholder engagement to deliver against stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage and control project risks, changes, issues, and problems effectively.
  • Conduct appropriate progress reporting to stakeholders.
  • Formalize acceptance of project deliverables and collect lessons learned.
  • Gain hands-on experience by working through a simulated project case study.
