HOW WE DO

It is imperative that participants are able to practically apply their newly acquired skills in the workplace. Each of our programmes, albeit through classroom training, customised programmes or elearning, use real life scenarios and case studies to allow the participant to practice their skills in a safe environment. This creates maximum effect in the workplace.

Once the participant is back in the work place, they have access to our highly skilled consultants through telephonic, on-line or on the job coaching and mentoring. Mentors focus on the participant, their career and support for individual growth and maturity, while the coach is job-focussed and performance orientated.

Integrated Learning

Effective Training

Effective training is the foundation for powerful learning. Effective training is to train the right things for the right situation in the best possible way. The result of Effective Training is higher motivation, a higher level of engagement, lowered training costs and increased training results.

When there’s a lack of Effective Training:
  • Training seems like a waste of time
  • Focus on theory and PPT-presentations during training event
  • Participants don’t show up or don’t complete the ongoing training
  • Participants have difficulty describing the goal and purpose of the training
  • There is little or no individual preparation before the joint training event
  • Evaluations are used only to show how well the participants liked the training event

Learning Transfer

Learning Transfer defines how many people actually apply the new behaviours when they get back to the workplace so it effects the organisation in a positive way. The level of learning transfer is normally extremely low, close to only 15 %.

When there’s a lack of Learning Transfer:
  • The managers are not involved
  • It’s difficult to break old habits – the training is easily and quickly forgotten
  • It’s unclear how the training will be applied in the workplace
  • Desired change in behaviour is not fulfilled
Create Learning Transfer by:
  • Support managers in how and when they can be part of the training
  • Design for application from the very beginning
  • Make sure to visually show to the participants and their managers how the training is applied and the results of this
  • Start with the end – what behaviours do you want to see more of?

Results

Results is the value created after the participants have applied what they learned. It is also a message to the organisation that the training has met expectations.

When there’s a lack of Results:
  • There is uncertainty about what value the training has
  • The training is questioned by the organisation
  • It’s difficult to see what the ROE and ROI of the training are
  • The training is cancelled due to lack of time or an attempt to cut costs
Create Results by:
  • Start with the end – define the expectations from the organisation
  • Engage participants and managers to create and evaluate personal goals in line with expectation
  • Make the participants’ goal, as well as their progress, visible to both the participant and their managers
  • Review and evaluate the individual goals continuously during and after training

Our Learning Transfer Platform - PROMOTE®

Why it works

Promote has four key concepts that underpin the learning platform’s ability to drive, help and support participants in their application of new knowledge. It is these four pillars on which the methodology and learning platform stand. They are:

  • Manager Involvement
  • Social learning
  • Effective training
  • Effect and improvement

Through these key concepts, users will be provided with the right tools, at the right time to drive toward the desired results. These are Promote’s recipes for success.

5X better effect!

Research shows that on average, only one in six of your participants delivers value after a training program. This means that only 15% of those who complete a training program go out and use their newly acquired knowledge in the workplace. The other five struggle to apply lessons learned and fail to create results for the organization. This means that the full value of your program is never realized.

The good news is that this can be remedied by using a proper training process and a system that unleashes the hidden potential of your employees. With Promote you can increase the number from 1 out of 6 to 5 out of 6 – or 5 times better results! 5 times more participants will thus use their knowledge to drive towards your results.

Commitment, responsibility and application

Commitment and accountability drive the business impact of training programs. Normally, the most important driver is the commitment from management. Compared to other high-impact programs, Promote programs produce tremendous scores on commitment and accountability even when executives are not involved (although the high impact is still more common when executives are involved).

Turn your Managers into role models

The manager is key to creating positive results.

A manager sets expectations based on business goals, provides support at work, and gives invaluable feedback. Promote makes it easier for managers to know when and how to get involved. In Promote, the manager is involved in the learning journey.

Promote supports managers to see when they are needed most, and how best to intervene in the process. Increased managerial involvement creates the conditions for better business performance.

A positive sense of responsibility

Social learning, or guided social learning, is an engine for change.

When participants try out new behaviors, they want to feel that they are not alone and have the opportunity to share the experience with others.

Promote makes it easier to share experiences throughout the learning process. Participants inspire, share experiences and best practices, reflect, collaborate, and network with each other to create a deeper learning experience.

The basis for sustainable learning is effective training. To manage your time and money, you need to practice the right things, at the right time, in the best possible way.

Promote helps your organization shift focus from learning in a classroom environment to the application at work. Effective training leads to higher motivation, higher commitment, reduced training costs, and better results.

Keep your Program‘s on track

Make sure the learning journey is on track and that your program is delivering the expected results. In Promote, you have key performance indicators for the progress and evaluation of objectives built into the platform and into your programs.

Promote allows you to steer your programs toward goals by acting on deviations or encouraging success in real time. The platform is based on recognized methods for the evaluation of training, by Kirkpatrick and Professor Brinkerhoff.
